Sophia’s Story
After another fight with Dre and the name Carmen daring to cross her lips, Sophia made a
decision. She applied for Vinyl Zen Camp. But she didn't tell Andrea until she got a spot at camp.
Andrea: Camp? You want to go to summer camp?
Sophia: Not 'want to go', I am going.
Andrea: Alright, I'm down. We'll go.
Sophia: Dre, weren't you paying attention? I'm going alone.
Andrea: I know it says spaces are limited, but...
Sophia: Dre, this isn't about there space, it's about my space.
Andrea: Are we breaking up?
Sophia: I hope not. I hope I can come back from this and we can be stronger. Because, you and me, at our best, are great together. But we can't be the beginning and the end of everything in each others lives.
Andrea: So you're really leaving me?
Sophia: Just for the summer. I think too much just happened too fast. I need time and just a little space for me.
Andrea: Sophia, I love you and I want you to stay.
Sophia: I love you too and that's why I have to go.
