The Weasley Doll Project

The History

History of the Weasley Doll Project

Upon the release of the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001, Mattel had come out with the Harry Potter trio in Barbie size (well, Stacie size at the time because of the characters ages). They included all three main characters in this first set, but in follow up sets they dismissed Ron and only produced Harry and Hermione. But the time Dawn knew about these dolls, the Ron doll ad gone into ‘hard to find’ status and she spent a ridiculous amount of time (and money) trying to buy one off of eBay. She succeeded, but soon found her life (and Ron’s) incomplete. I wanted the family I loved to read about around him, so I set out to complete the set.

In 2004 I started my Weasley doll project and set out to complete my 1:6 scale Weasley Family. These dolls are a unique product of my love for Harry Potter.Thank you J.K. Rowling for the many years of entertainment this family gave me. I will always keep them close to my heart.
