Original Identity : Mystery Squad Kenzie (Mattel)
JKR’s Specs : Full head of bushy hair and and over-bite, but we’re past the stage of the over-bite with this doll.
Choosing a Granger : Okay, so at the time I decided I wanted a custom Granger she wasn’t officially a Weasley. However, I was quite unsatisfied with the Emma-Watson-esque Hogsmead Hermione produced by Mattle. The second I saw Kenzie and that hair I had to make her into my Hermione. The only reason I wanted a Hogsmead Hermione was to steal her clothing and put it on Kenzie, which I did.
Making a Granger : I adopted a used Kenzie from a friend and began to transform her. She was a little more work then I thought I could handle as her face needed a total re-paint almost. I called in help to get her face back together (Loanne, who’s responsible for my Charlie’s face-over, also did my Hermione’s face). I then found her a body I liked and that was it. I had my bushy haired Hermione.
My Thoughts on the Result : I was a little upset at first I couldn’t get a brand new Kenzie to work with, but it made my Hermione more unique and less a glamor girl. I’m very happy with her now. Especially her hair. I love that I just can’t control it. I also think she compliments the little Hermione doll better than the Mattel Hermione teen.
