Sophia’s Story

Insert akward moment here, because they sat in silence and the whole time Sophia felt she should say something. I mean they were both sitting here, shouldn't she make with the small talk? Dealing with children was so much easier than socializing with adults. But the other person broke the akward silence for her.
Andrea: Andrea.
Sophia: Huh?
Andrea: My name is Andrea.
Sophia: Oh, Sophia. Mine is Sophia. Uh, weren't you on the female basketball team for City?
Andrea: Yeah, did you go to City?
Sophia: No, Parkville High. But my friend Kylie over there was on the team for our school, so I went to all the games. I thought I had seen you once before.
Andrea: Yeah, I remember Kylie, she was alright, she had some skills.
Sophia: She's such a girly girl I was honestly surprised at how good she was.
(Andrea got up and came to the other side of the table)
Andrea: My aunt wanted me to stick with it for Scholarship reasons. But even though I liked it, I didn't love it.
Sophia: You quit?
Andrea: Yeah, it put me in a social circle that got me through high school, when I was done with school I was done with it. It also helped me get close to a certain someone.
Sophia: A special someone?
Andrea: Well, a someone I thought was special, but wasn't.
Sophia: Did you leave basketball because of them?
Andrea: Nah, I wanted to work with computers. Tech schools had that covered for much less than some four year university.
Kylie: Sophia!
Sophia: Oh no.
Andrea: What's up?
Sophia: My friend is determined to hook me up with this Tre guy.
Andrea: I know him, we went to City together.
Sophia: He's a nice enough guy, but...
(She didn't finish because Kylie came over)
Kylie: Give Tre five minutes Sophia. That's all I ask.
Sophia: Will you leave me alone if I do?
Kylie: I promise.
Sophia: Excuse me a minute Andrea.
