Sophia’s Story
(As they drove home, Andrea and Sophia's conversation continued...)
Andrea: What's up with you and Tre? You just playing hard to get or are you really not interested?
Sophia: Not interested. Kylie thinks since she's with Ellis, I need a guy so we can double when he's in town. But after tonight she'll be less likely to want to pair me up.
Andrea: Why?
Sophia: My brother's going to break up with her.
Dre: That's harsh.
Sophia: He's just not in love anymore. I couldn't tell her, she's already got the wedding planned. He's ready to move on and he'd rather break up with her than string her along or cheat.
Andrea: I can respect that. It's better than my ex treated me.
Sophia: You were cheated on?
Andrea: Depends on who you ask, her or me.
Sophia: Uh... um... H--h--her?
Andrea: Yeah, a her? That bother you?
Sophia: No, uh what was her name?
Andrea: Carmen.
Sophia: And what happened?
Andrea: Basically, I was for real and she was playing. I loved her so much I thought eventually she had to love me back. I mean, all that love couldn't have been just me. But then I caught her with this guy. And when I confronted her, it was all, we were just playing around. I told her I was serious, broke into tears, begged, cried, but it didn't change anything. I hate that I cried for her. I vowed I'd never do that again. That next time I had to know it was real for both of us.
Andrea: Your brother just pulled off the road.
Sophia: What?
(Sophia looked out the car window and saw Ellis had not only pulled over, he and Kylie had stepped out of the car arguing.)
