1.1: The End of Summer

Harold: What you looking so down about?

Lina: His mom’s having twins.

Harold: She’s already the old lady who lives in a shoe, what’s two more babies?

Francisco: It’s everything. It’s the reason I may not go away to college.

Harold: Why? You’re not the dad. I mean, my dad ain’t exactly Mr. Johnson over there, but Mick and I deal.

Francisco: Yeah, Kirk’s lucky all he has to do is prepare to be big brother. Occasional babysitting, but his life is perfect.

Lina: First of all, you two, his name is Nelson, not Kirk.

Harold: His name is Kirk.

Lina: His parents named him NELSON Kirk with every intention that the world would use his first name, you have no right to change it. And second of all, his life isn’t as perfect as you make it out to be.

Harold: You don’t have to defend your little boyfriend to me. I know him just as well as you do.

Francisco: And really, all I ask for is what Nelson’s got, a dad who’s there for his mom.

Harold: I feel you. And I know you love your mom and your family, but you can’t give up everything for them.

Lina: For once I agree with this fool, you’ve given up more than your fair share, let the others pick up some slack.

Francisco: No, I’ve always been the one to help mom through the rough times, I’m going to keep doing it. And not just for her, for all of them.

Harold: Bigger man then I am. I’m out.

Lina: Give me a ride?

Harold: Sure.
