(And no one had a harder time talking to their child than Mrs. Dawn Carr.)
Mrs. Carr: Erika, I know that Mr. Stevens is struggling with Shawn and I’m glad you and your friends have embraced him as a friend, but I don’t think he’s the right kind of friend to have in your life right now.
Erika: And I’m glad Sophia’s so great with the little ones and so in love with the baby twins, but I don’t think she’s the right kind of friend for you.
Mrs. Carr: Fair enough. But Sophia has never gotten me in trouble the way Shawn has you. What you saw wasn’t what you thought you saw.
Erika: I saw you undressing her! How can you explain that?
Mrs. Carr: I was helping her get ready for a date tonight… with someone else.
Erika: Really?
Mrs. Carr: Yes, she was very nervous about it and as her friend I wanted to make sure she looked as best as she could.
Erika: I still don’t like it.
Mrs. Carr: Why? I promised you a long time ago I wouldn’t date her and I haven’t. I’m still married to your father Erika and even if I wasn’t… I promised you. I don’t break my promises.
Erika: But you want to.
Mrs. Carr: What do you want? Do you want me to fire her from her job?
Erika: Would you?
