1.10: Confessions
(During lunch at the middle school on the next school day, Shawn was informed about the parental ban on hanging out with him.)
Shawn: So all your parents think I’m a bad influence and don’t want you hanging around with me?
Kenny: Yeah. Why’d you do it? Why’d you steal?
Shawn: I don’t know, just felt like it?
Tina: It’s only outside of school we can’t hang out. They know they can’t do much about us seeing you here.
Erika: And even if they didn’t allow it, you’re our friend, we wouldn’t ignore you.
Shawn: Can we at least walk home together?
Tina: I don’t know, I don’t think so.
Kenny: My dad made it pretty clear I can’t.
(When the bell rang signaling the end of lunch, Erika waited for Kenny and Tina to leave the table, then she turned to Shawn.)
Erika: I’ll walk home with you.
Shawn: What about your mom?
Erika: She’s ignoring my wishes, why should I care about hers?
Shawn: I feel you on that.
