1.17: Love’s Consequences
An hour later Mrs. Carr was hanging up the phone after completing a conversation with Mrs. River (who she had discovered as the source of it all through Dr. Fletcher.) She wasn’t surprised to discover she was the source as her son hadn’t been at the Day Care in the last week (much to the disappointment of her own son, Mark).
Mrs. Carr: Dr. Fletcher for sure isn’t pulling Rocky. Allison River is not so sure Michael belongs with us.
Sophia: Why did she start this?
Mrs. Carr: Remember when I came back from seeing my husband and we kissed, out front?
Sophia: Yeah.
Mrs. Carr: Allison saw us.
Sophia: Oh no. You think if I just quit, the problem would be gone?
Mrs. Carr: No, besides the kids love you. I wouldn’t think of replacing you. So lets not jump the gun, we don’t know if the other parents know or how they feel about it. So lets just see what happens tomorrow at Day Care. And don’t even think about the forced separation thing. We’ve never been very good at staying from each other.
Sophia: Whatever has to be done, I’m with you.
