1.17: Love’s Consequences

Act III

That night, Mrs. Carr and Sophia discussed the issue further as they prepared the babies for bed.

Mrs. Carr: So I called all the parents, the ones who sent there kids and the ones who didn’t. They’ll all be coming by the house for the conference.

Sophia: What are we going to tell them?

Mrs. Carr: Just the truth. They’re trusting us with there young, impressionable toddlers. In order to continue that trust, I have to be as honest as possible.

Sophia: You mean we.

Mrs. Carr: No I. I’m the one who’s under the gun here. It’s my marriage that’s ending, it’s my Day Care, it’s my problem.

Sophia: It’s our relationship that’s being questioned here, not just you.

Mrs. Carr: No, it’s my marriage that’s causing the trouble, not our relationship. Besides, the parents are use to me, not just as a Day Care provider. Some of them, have kids who are my kids friends. We’ve been to pee wee football games and school PTA meetings together. I’m not saying you don’t factor, I’m just saying I know them in a way you don’t.
