1.17: Love’s Consequences

Kim: Hey baby, you okay.
Benny: Yeah, just not feeling my game is good enough tonight. Everyone pales in comparison to Mr. Harold Tompson.
Kim: Don’t say that. Lets dance, okay.
Benny: Okay.
(And so, they danced. And it was a magical moment for Benny.)

(Later on in the evening, Kim came to the table where Harold, Sharice, Francisco and Karen were sitting laughing and chatting.)
Kim: Hey Harold, how about a dance?
Karen: Kim!
Kim: What?
Karen: You’re here with Benny.
Harold: And I’ve pissed him off enough for one night.
Kim: It’s just a dance Harold. Why have you been so cold to me lately?
Harold: I’m not being cold.
Sharice: Oh give her a dance Harold. Besides, Francisco still owes me a dance. That is if you don’t mind Karen.
Karen: Um, no I don’t mind.
(Kim and Harold and Sharice and Francisco moved on to the dance floor)
Kim: Harold, do me a favor, ease up on Benny.
Harold: You defending him?
Kim: Why you sound so surprised?

Harold: I’m not the one hurting him, I’m just being honest. You still want me and you’re not helping him by throwing him a bone for the night.
Kim: How you know I don’t really like him?
Harold: Please Kim. Benny’s my boy, but you’re like a 9.5 and he’s a 4. Those numbers just don’t work out.
Kim: He’s a sweetheart.
Harold: And you like him, but he don’t make you feel like I do.
Kim: But you’re taken.
Harold: Yeah, I am.
Kim: I respect that, okay. That’s obviously what you want, so you got it. Now stop blowing me off and lets be friends again.
Harold: Okay, whatever, that’s cool.
