1.17: Love’s Consequences

Meanwhile, at the Stevens house, Shawn was fullfilling his promise to appologize to his friends’ parents.

Shawn: Mr. Hill and Mrs. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Carr, I’ve made a lot of mistakes. A few that involved your son and daughters in questionable activity. I’m really sorry for that. I’ve apologized to him and now I’m apologizing to you. I would like the opportunity to be a better friend. So I’m hoping with your permission I can hang out with your children and prove myself to be a worthwhile friend, because I’d hate to lose thier friendship.

Mrs. Carr: Well Shawn, I think it’s very good you’ve learned to accept your mistakes. I don’t mind you playing with my daughter, but if you step out of line again I’ll be less inclined to forgive you.

Mrs. Smith: This doesn’t mean you can’t make mistakes, that’s a part of being human. But when you know better than to be doing something, act like it. My son seems to trust you know better than you use to, so I’m going to try and give you the same trust.

Mr. Hill: Me too, but this is your last chance with me and my child.
