Meanwhile, at the shoe store Lina Gaby caught up with Francisco and Sharice. She was desperate to tell him something.

Lina: Hey Francisco, I need to talk to you.

Francisco: What about?

Lina: Your mom (looks to Sharice and then back at Francisco) And I need to say it in private

Francisco: Reese is cool, just go ahead and say it.

Lina: Okay, if you insist. My mom got a call from Mrs. River who apparently has contacted all the day care parents in her phone book. According to her, she has reason to believe your mother and Sophia are lovers.

Francisco: They’re not, I mean not like I’m all in my mother’s love life, but … well… you know what came of the last Sophia rumor.

Lina: But this rumor didn’t start in a middle school, this one is coming straight from Day Care parents. This could affect your mom’s bussiness, so I thought you should know. (pause) This is just a rumor, right?

(Francisco looks to Sharice)

Sharice: If it wasn’t, would it really matter?

Lina: Yes and it isn’t about Sophia being a lesbian either. Mrs. Carr is married with children. Maybe that doesn’t mean much to you –

Sharice: Excuse you!

Francisco: Lets not argue okay. I’ll talk to my mom. Thanks for telling me about this Lina.

Lina: You’re welcome.

(Lina walks away)

Sharice: She hates me. Why?

Francisco: I don’t know, but she’ll get over it. Right now, what should I do about mom?

Sharice: We should talk to her and Sophia. Maybe they can run interference

Francisco: Alright, lets go.
