1.11: Valentines
Sophia: I just want to do the right thing here.
Ashley: So what does that mean for me?
Sophia: I don’t know, but even if you’re right about me and Dawn and the unresolved tension, it can’t happen… okay. She’s not an option.
Ashley: So I’m like some second best choice.
Sophia: No, I like you.
Ashley: And I like you, I have fun with you. But that special something that happens, we don’t have it. And you need to resolve this thing with Dawn before you can open up to anybody I think.
Sophia: Believe me, it’s resolved, it’s just a matter of me moving on. We kissed and it was just totally wrong…
Ashley: Wait, you’ve kissed? And it felt wrong?
Sophia: No, it felt … perfect, wonderful, for her too.
Ashley: She said that.
Sophia: She said a lot of things, she’s too old for me, she’s married, she’s my boss, sort of. Anyway you add it up, kissing each other was the wrong thing to do for a thousand reasons.
Ashley: But of all the reason she gave, it wasn’t that she wasn’t…attracted to you.
Sophia: No.
Ashley: Then go for it.
Sophia: What about her kids, her husband?
Ashley: From what you’ve told me, and god you’ve told me everything about this woman, he isn’t around. You’re there for his wife, you’re taking care of his kids. If he wanted to be there that would be one thing that would make me say ‘you’re doing the right thing by walking away’, but he’s not.
Sophia: He’s working.
Ashley: You said you don’t believe that’s the only reason he stays away.
Sophia: Dawn’s marriage isn’t really my business.
Ashley: You’re right, that’s for them to resolve. But the feelings between you two, it’s very much your business. You have to ask yourself, what do you really want right now? It’s not me or some unknown love you haven’t met yet, it’s her. And you’re not going to be happy with anyone until you really resolve this.
