1.11: Valentines
Sophia: I thought we were doing okay.
Ashley: We had a little fun and whatever happens, know that you’re a good woman. But Valentine’s day is coming and I don’t want to go into the holiday of St. Valentine pretending we’re building something, because we’re not. We’re not even close. You know what you want and it’s not me. So thanks for a few good dates, but lets end it now.
(After a friendly hug, Ashley left.)
(Sophia was half upset about letting such a nice woman get away, but knew she was right. She remembered that one of the first bits of advice Marcella had given her at camp was to think about what she wanted. But she bet Marcella never thought that would include a married woman. She wished Marcella was there to talk to right then, she could have used an understanding ear.)
