1.12: Emotional Rollercoaster

(Sophia put Maniya down and she ran off to play)

Francisco: You haven’t been by the house lately.

Sophia: Your dad was there.

Francisco: He’s gone now.

Sophia: I know, but still it’s better if I take some time off.

Francisco: I see you tip toeing around mom too.

Sophia: Francisco, I can’t force her to love me the way she loves your father. Which is why I have to say no to this crazy idea of yours.

Francisco: It’s not crazy. We’re just giving her a fair choice, we’ll be giving her the truth.

Sophia: It’s just not right. You’re her child and I’m her friend, we shouldn’t be conspiring to destroy her marriage.

Francisco: What marriage? All there marriage is, it’s a peice of paper.

Sophia: A peice of paper that means a lot to your mother. Besides, I think you just want to get back at your father and I don’t want to be your tool to do it. Francisco, I know you think you’re pretty grown up and even pretty mature for 17, but you’re still just someone’s child too.

Francisco: This isn’t about my father Sophia, it’s about my mother. She wants to be with you, not him, I can tell. But out of some twisted loyalty to my father, she’s staying with him. But what if he doesn’t deserve that loyalty? If he does, everything’s okay. We find out nothing. But if doesn’t, why shouldn’t you and mom be together?

Sophia: This just doesn’t feel right.

Francisco: There’s a a card in here with number in here of a P.I. I checked. She just won’t deal with me cause I’m not 18. If it starts feeling right, call the number.

Sophia: Okay, I’ll take the card but I’m not making any promises.

Francisco: Thank you. Come by the house sometime this week, just to see mom.

Sophia: I see her–

Francisco: At work, I know. But I also know how good you are at avoiding each other when you can put 20 kids between you.
