1.14: Family Ties
Mrs. Carr came and sat with Sophia and they both watched the kids play.
Mrs. Carr: Malcom’s out of jail on bail.
Sophia: Has he tried to see his kids?
Mrs. Carr: No, Social Services won’t allow it during the investigation. They’re legally in my custody. He can’t take them, he can’t see them unsupervised. Courtney been asking for him. She doesn’t understand why she can’t go home.
Sophia: And Robby?
Mrs. Carr: He’s happy as long as he has Sharice. I’m trying to keep them away from TV. It’s a big story on the news right now and a whole lot more than they can really understand. Luckily no one’s really gotten to them, they’re usually home with my kids or here so they’re protected. But a reporter almost caught up with Sharice the other day.
Sophia: Poor kids, it’ll be awhile before they’re really back to feeling normal.
