1.16: Betrayed
(When Mrs. Carr arrived home, Sophia was walking out of her house. Sophia was shocked to see her and rushed over to explain her presence.)

Mrs. Carr: Sophia?
Sophia: Shanice had some trouble settling down King and Me’chelle. She called me. I hope you don’t mind. I know we’re not exactly on the best terms at the moment.
Mrs. Carr: You want to know why I was gone for the weekend?
Sophia: Only if you want to tell me.
Mrs. Carr: I went to see him, my husband. Met the other woman, briefly. I guess I can’t complain, since I started out the other woman.
Sophia: Yes you can. No matter how it started out, you’re his wife now. You have children here that you’ve practically raised all alone.

Sophia: You have a right to shout, scream, anything you want.
Mrs. Carr: Thanks, but I’m still mad at you.
Sophia: I know and you should be. I’m so sorry I betrayed your trust. You’re right, Francisco’s not an adult and I shouldn’t be conspiring with your son behind your back. I knew that, I knew it was wrong. And if there’s anything–
Mrs. Carr: Sophia, shut up.
Sophia: What?
(And Mrs. Carr pulled her into her arms.)

(When there lips parted company….)

Mrs. Carr: You were right, I love you and you love me. And it’s equal and beautiful and more real than anything I ever had with my husband.
Sophia: Really? You want this. You want us, together?
Mrs. Carr: Yeah, I don’t understand why it happened this way, but it happened. And right now, it’s the only thing that’s real. Right now, I just want to hold on to it.

(Then they shared another kiss, the first kiss they had ever shared without fear about the outcome.
Everything seemed perfect. And it would have been if not for…
