1.2: Back to School
(Kim made herself scarce and Ben went up to Stacy as she came down the hall.)
Ben: Hey Stacy, I’ve been thinking, about this morning.
Stacy: And?
Ben: You’re a pretty girl, just like Kim. Neither one of you should be playing second to the other. Maybe, for once, mom’s advice is okay. Maybe we should give it a shot, just once.
Stacy: Ben, I’m not into you.
Ben: And I’m into Kim, you know that. But you never know what can be, unless you give it a shot. One movie Stacy, just one. That’s all I ask.
Stacy: Why me? Is it just cause of your mom and my mom thinking we should be together.
Ben: No, I just think we’re looking for the same thing, somebody to care about.
Stacy: Okay, one movie. Call me tonight
(Stacy walks away, Kim re-appears)
Kim: Heard it all, good job player.
Ben: Yeah, but not good enough.
Kim: Let’s go home.
(Kim felt half bad about manipulating Ben like this. But maybe, just maybe, if she got them together and it worked out. Then Harold would be free and clear to be hers. And Ben could be happy… with someone else.)
