1.7: The Lost Son
(At the Mall, Sophia and Mrs. Carr were taking the toddlers shopping. They all needed new shoes so they’d gone right after closing the day care. Ellis had left long before closing, saying he wanted to catch up with a few other people before he was gone again.)
Mrs. Carr: Thanks for helping me go shoe shopping.
Sophia: No thanks required, you know I love any time I spend with you and the rugrats.
(Someone unexpected recognized Sophia as they walked through the mall.)
Maria: Sophia.
Sophia: Mom.
Maria: How are you?
Sophia: Good, you?
Maria: Good.
Mrs. Carr: Are you going to introduce me?
Sophia: Mom, this is Mrs. Dawn Carr and her children, Mark, Mellissa, Maniya, King and Me’chelle. Dawn, this is my mother, Maria Clark.
Maria: You’re a Mrs.?
Mrs. Carr: Yes, I’m married.
Maria: And you and my daughter are…
Sophia: Friends mom and yes she knows. Just cause you treat me like a leper, doesn’t mean the rest of the world will. (to Mrs. Carr) Lets go.
(Sophia turned away angry, Mrs. Carr followed, Mark and Mellissa didn’t.)
Mark: If you’re Sophia’s mom, that means you’re Elec-tic’s mom too.
Mellissa: Do you have supa powers?
Maria: What?
Sophia: Mark, Mellissa, come on.
Mellissa: Bye Elec-tic’s mom.
(Mark and Mellissa ran off to join Mrs. Carr and Sophia.)
