1.7: The Lost Son
(While walking home, Sophia ran into Kirk who was coming back from football practice.)
Kirk: What?
Stacy: I suddenly have a baby brother on the way.
Kirk: Your Mom’s pregnant?
Stacy: No, worse. Apparently my dad had a little secret family. My brother is already 10 years old. His name is Shawn and his mother passed away, so he’s coming to live with us.
Kirk: His mom’s dead? That must be hard on the kid. You should be nice to him.
Stacy: Be nice to the kid? It must be hard on him? Kirk, I just found out my father, cheated on my mother and hid a kid from me.
Kirk: And that’s messed up, but he lost his mom and he didn’t ask for this … reunion anymore than you did.
Stacy: I guess you’re right.
Kirk: And look at it this way, you don’t have to go through the ‘cute new baby’ in the house thing. He’s 10, he’ll get settled in and drive your parents nuts. And you’ll still get to be their angel.
Stacy: Thanks Kirk.
Kirk: No problem. This is a messed up situation.
Stacy: Yeah, real messed up.
Kirk: And I know it’s gonna be hard for you, but you always got me to talk to. I know exactly how you feel afterall.
Stacy: Thanks. Lina’s real lucky to have a guy like you.
