1.9: Together Again
Francisco: Wait a second Mr. Marshall, please. Sharice, I got one more thing to say.
Mr. Marshall: Hurry it up son.
Francisco: Okay Mr. Marshall.
(Mr. Marshall walked off leaving the two children alone to say good-bye)
Reese: What you wanna say?
Francisco: Not ‘as long as it last’, forever. Forever and ever. You’ll be my best friend forever.
Reese: Really?
Francisco: Yeah.
Reese: If I can ever ever come back, I will.
Francisco: You promise.
Reese: I promise.
(And then she shocked him with a kiss, a quick kiss on the lips. It was innocent and sweet and it made Francisco glow in a way he never had before.)
Reese: (whispering) I love you. Thank you for trying to protect me.
(And then she was gone and it hurt, but not as much as he thought because there was hope of her coming back. And she fullfilled that hope on his birthday 8 years later and Francisco couldn’t have been more thrilled….)
