Bonus Scene: Off to Hiz Camp

Mr. Carr: Son, are you even going to give this a real chance?
Francisco: Did you give this family a ‘real chance’?
Mr. Carr: I–

Mrs. Carr: Just stop. This is why you two need to go away together.
Francisco: It’s not going to change anything.
Mrs. Carr: Not if you don’t give it a chance. Francisco, the past is gone. We can’t change it. This divorce is going to be huge this family, this relationship with Sophia is going to be life changing for all of us.

Mrs. Carr: So, I just need your help in healing the wounds that tore us apart in the first place. Because honey, he was your dad before I married him and he’ll be your dad long after we divorce. My relationship with him as a husband is gone, but your relationship with him as his son never will be.
Francisco: It takes more than making a baby to be a father, to be any kind of parent.
Mrs. Carr: I know that, just like you know that there were good days with your dad. As few and far in-between as they were, your dad has been there for you for a few select important moments in your life. He wasn’t there all the time, but he didn’t get me pregnant and walk away. There were mistakes on both sides sweetie, but we did something right somewhere because you are an incredible young man.
Francisco: Thanks mom. I’ll try this, for you.
Mrs. Carr: Good. I’ll go get your brothers and sisters so they can say good-bye.
