The Family
The parent of the Tompson Household is Monica Tracey.
The father of her two sons is Norvel Emmanuel Tompson. He hated the name Norvel, so he never told anyone his name, everyone just called him Manny. Monica was a small town girl who wanted to grow up to fast and did. She was 14 pretending to be 16 when she met 20 year old college student named Manny. She got pregnant and gave birth to Harold Emmanuel soon after meeting Manny (and if you’re wondering, Manny was African-American and that’s why the boys are bi-racial). Her parents were of course very angry about this, but at thier daughters begging they set the couple up in thier house where Manny said he would help raise thier son. Manny left college and got a job and Monica, wanting out of her parents house, convinced him they should get thier own apartment. Again, she wanted to grow up to fast and get away from her parents. By the time Harold was two she had a second baby, Mick Norvel, and had dropped out of school herself. Thier life alone was not heaven, Manny and Monica fought about money and blamed each other for the stand-still they reached in thier lives. Still too-young to be a mother and play wife, Monica would run home to her mother crying about her problems, but then refuse to leave Manny when her mother offered it as a solution. Finally Monica and Manny broke up over another woman. He all but disappeared from his sons’ life.

Monica’s mother set her up in a house she inherrited when her cousin passed away. Monica moved with her young sons to the house on Kelley Avenue. She and her boys never quite fit in with the rest.
When her sons were 15 and 13, a one night stand resulted in her infant daughter Estelle Sabrina Tracey.
