1.6: Crossing the Line

Act I

(Mrs. Carr arrived at the the Day Care with her three toddlers. Sophia was already there setting up the outside toys.)

It had been a over 2 weeks since Mrs. Carr and Sophia had decided that her hanging around the house wasn’t a good idea. Mrs. Carr had managed to get a day sitter to take care of her infant twins at home so that she could return to work full-time. Sophia had been mostly managing the Day Care on her own since the twins were born and Mrs. Carr had only returned to regular hours in the last week. If nothing else, Sophia had proven to be a capable employee during her friends’ Maternity time. But Mrs. Carr’s return to full time hours had been awkward for both of them. What was once a flawless working relationship had somehow turned into a series of uncomfortable moments where they avoided talking, speaking, or even touching any more than necessary. Somehow, Erika’s insecurities had made them insecure about everything they did.
