Ginny Weasley (Teen)

Series 1

Finished : 2007/2008

Original Identity : Flavas: Bike Date Happy D. (Mattel)

JKR’s Specs : Small of build, brown eyes

Choosing a Weasley : I liked the Happy D. doll for Ginny for a number of reasons. She had beautiful eyes and she was created as a grown woman shorter than Barbie (the Flavas Women, unlike Barbie and Friends, were of varying heights). She was in the perfect height category, in fact, between the body I choose for Teen Ron and the Mattel produced Hogsmeade Harry. She looked like an older version of the Fern doll also (at least, to me she did). Not to mention, Flavas dolls have awesome movement capabilities when it comes to posing.

Making a Weasley : The most major thing I had to do to Happy D was her re-root. She was honestly the reason I did molded hair for the twins. I knew it was going to be a big job getting the hair she had out and putting new hair in. Since half her head was jet black, dying wasn’t even on the table as an option. So out it all came. Otherwise, Ginny just needed freckles. Her body needed no replacement. Once I sewed her up a pair of Hogwarts robes, she was ready to go.

My Thoughts on the Result : Just like little Ginny, she’s just perfect. Exactly what I wanted when I set out to make older Ginny.
