1.3: The Rumor
(Not one of the bickering group had noticed the quick exit Raymond made because they were all involved in what became a very loud and involved argument.)
Shanice: Oh no, Raymond. I’m sorry.
Mrs. Carr: Don’t be sorry, explain.
(everyone talks over each other)
Mrs. Carr: One at a time. Francisco.
Shanice: Why does he get to go…
Mrs. Carr: Shanice!
Francisco: You how I get up early to wash up. Well I got up early and went in the bathroom. Sophia was already in there. We both were shocked, I apologized for walking in on her and we had short conversation about shopping for baby stuff. Shanice walked in on the end of it and assumed something was going on and apparently went to Erika with it, of all people. And of course Erika went out the house and told her buddies.
Mrs. Carr: Anyone else have anything to say?
Shanice: I made a mistake, I’m sorry Dawn. I really wanted you to get Nicole, now Raymond will probably never speak to me again. I don’t know why I didn’t come to you. Erika felt weird about her and after seeing what I saw, I thought maybe she was on to something.
Mrs. Carr: Shanice, she’s ten. You should have brought it to me. Erika, you too should have brought your concerns to me, not talked to your friends.
Erika: I’m sorry mom.
Mrs. Carr: I hope your irresponsible handling of this situation hasn’t ruined any other parent’s view of this Day Care. Please go home.
