1.5: Halloween
(When Sophia was gone, Francisco turned to Karen.)
Karen: Francisco, I like Sophia. But I have to be honest, if my dad wasn’t around and she was that close to my mom, I’d worry.
Francisco: You’re being as silly as Erika.
Karen: I’m not saying your mom shouldn’t have a friend, but she’s obviously around enough for Maniya to get confused.
Francisco: Maniya’s not confused. And the truth is I really wouldn’t care if something happened between them.
Karen: If you were really okay with it. You wouldn’t have gotten so upset with Harold.
Francisco: I didn’t like what Harold was suggesting, it was all in the way he said it. Like my mom would just get stupid one night and be with Sophia and it wouldn’t mean anything. I don’t think it would be like that for them if it happened.
Karen: You’ve seriously thought about this. That’s very weird. I mean, I know you have issues, but your dad is your dad.
Francisco: And he’ll be my dad no matter what happens. But he’s not here, he’s never here, Sophia is.
