Mie: He’s a lot different from him, you’re just too stuborn to aknowledge it.
Mr. River: Mie, go to the truck.
Mie: What?
Mr. River: Go to the truck. You’re going home with your mother.
Mie: Why?
Mr. River: Since when did you question me so much? This is exactly why I didn’t want you dating this boy.
Mie: Afraid I’m going to get a mind of my own?
Mr. River: Talk back to me one more time and you won’t be leaving home for anything but school for the rest of the year. Now go.
(Mie didn’t just walk off, she stomped off.)
(Then Mick left, upset things hadn’t gone better, but knowing there was nothing to be done about it at the moment. He believed they would figure it out, make it right somehow, they had to.)
