Choosing a Weasley : The day I saw a promo picture of the blond haired, blue-eyed Cali-Guy Blaine I was imagining his make-over into Charlie Weasley.I actually WAITED for Cali Guy Blaine to get released for the sole purpose of creating Charlie Weasley. He just was Charlie from the moment I saw him. Well, his head was. As usual, his boring ol’ PTR body was useless.

Making a Weasley : {view before Image}

Charlie’s head (though is was all work I requested) was not actually my work. It was a custom job I purchased from doll customizer Loanne. She does specialty curly haired re-roots and not only did my Charlie, but my little Michael (who’s a toddler Tommy doll). So I requested a curly re-root and freckles. He also got his eyes changed from blue to brown (if only because all my other Weasley boys have blue eyes and I wanted someone to have brown eyes like Ginny).

When he arrived back home I did do a body transplant. In fact, the major thing I did to him is his body surgery. I knew there was no way he was staying on that stiff PTR Ken body and I didn’t find any good Mattel alternatives. I didn’t want him on a My Scene Male (Mattel) body, because he isn’t of the ‘tall, long, and lanky’ variety of Weasley. So I decided to try an Aaron Carter body (the singer’s doll is made by playalong toys). I decapitated an Aaron and had to risk altering and possibly ruining the OoaK head of my new Charlie to place it on his new Action Figure body. Among other things, A.C.’s body was more muscular than the Ken body and muscles is one of the features JK Rowling mentioned in conjunction with the Dragon Tamer. Charlie also wears a cloak and carries a wand I made for him around Kelley Ave these days.

My Thoughts on the Result : I love Charlie to death. I imagined him almost exactly the way he turned out. He actually looks like the extra (Alex Crockford) that stood in as Charlie in the Weasley Family photo for the third Potter film. That’s not an accident entirely, I liked Crockford enough when I saw him that I wanted my Charlie to reflect him.
