1.4: Secrets
(Erika had decided on using Tina’s mother on purpose. She always gave them free rein to roam the mall alone for a little while, unlike her own mother and Kenny’s parents. She only hoped their timing worked with her mother and Sophia’s timing.)
Mrs. Hill: I’m going to buy some make-up and I know you’ll find that extremely boring. So you children meet me back here in an hour, okay.
Tina: Okay?
Erika: Thanks Mrs. Hill.
(Kenny and Tina were looking forward to a quick stroll to the arcade or a browse through the toy store or music store, but Erika told them they had something more important to do.)
Kenny: So where we going?
Erika: We’re checking all the stores with baby stuff.
Kenny: This is silly. Why are we spying on this lady?
Erika: I just want to make sure my mom’s okay.
Kenny: Tina, she’s losing her mind isn’t she?
Tina: Losing? I think it’s already lost.
