1.4: Secrets

(Mick remained calm and the baby settled down in his arms.)
Mick: It worked. I wish soothing Mie’s parents were this easy.
Harold: You still ain’t worked that out.
Mick: No, she says they won’t accept me. But I want them too Harold, I need them too.
Harold: Why? I mean, as long as Mie wants to see you, don’t you have what you want?
Mick: No, I want it all. I want to be able to go to her door and pick her up. I want to be able to invite her to family gatherings. I want everything to be right.
Harold: I never thought my baby brother would get this sprung.
Mick: I’m not sprung, I’m… I’m in love.
Harold: You haven’t told her that have you?
Mick: What? ‘I love you’?
Harold: Yeah.
Mick: No, but what’s wrong with caring about someone Harold?
Harold: When you really care, it really hurts when it ends. And it will end. The only thing that’s forever is you and me being brothers and this being our sister. That’s the only thing you should ever really care about.
Mick: You gonna have to open up to someone sometime Harold.
