1.4: Secrets
(Back at the hospital, Sophia walked the floor with the fussy King. His sister already seemed like the more contented of the two. Mrs. Carr was sleeping when the nurse came in to check on them all and ask if Sophia was staying with them. She told them she couldn’t, she had to leave.)
Sophia: Shhh, You don’t want to wake your mom King,
she’s had a long night. It was hard work
bringing you and your sister into the world.
But she’s not your only sister. You have
four sisters and four brothers at home. They’ll be coming to see you tommorow and help mommy take you home.
They’re a wonderful family and you’re lucky to be a part of it. I don’t know why
your father… well I guess I shouldn’t talk
about your father. Look at that, you’re
sleeping again. You do have a nobel face,
King was a good name for you. But I should
have known her name was perfect for you.
You know, she’s a pretty smart lady.
(And then Sophia went home.)
